Got leftovers from your holiday ham? This grilled ham and cheese sandwich with Cherry Chipotle Not Ketchup will make you happy to wake up the day after the big meal. Excellent with Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas leftover ham.

   2 slices hearty whole-grain bread

  2 teaspoons mayonnaise

4 ounces Swiss or Gruyere cheese, shredded

2 teaspoons Cherry Chipotle Not Ketchup, plus more for dipping

4 ounces leftover ham, sliced thinly or cut into small pieces

1/4 cup thinly shaved red onions (optional)

  *10 minutes | 1 serving

  1. Put a heavy skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Lay the bread out on a cutting board. Spread mayonnaise on the two surfaces that will be the outside of the sandwich. Turn the bread over so the inside is facing up.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the shredded cheese and 2 teaspoons Cherry Chipotle Not Ketchup. Spread half the cheese mixture on one piece of bread.
  4. Lay the ham and onions on top of the cheese, then top with remaining cheese mixture. Put the other piece of bread on top to form the sandwich.
  5. Grill the sandwich in the skillet until golden brown on both sides, pressing down occasionally with the back of a spatula. Be careful when you flip the sandwich – use your hand to stabilize the top or you’ll lose some of the filling.
  6. Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately with additional Cherry Chipotle Not Ketchup for dipping.
